Winter's Night

I looked out of the ruins of the city, towards the direction Riverwood was in. "Well, since we're already going to get Lydia and Gavyn... Why not them? I'm sure they can handle themselves in combat, right?" It's a shame I don't have the resources of Uvirith over here. Oh well, we'll have to just make do.

"Okay, then let's leave, if we aren't going to find anything here then theres no reason to stay, but...." I didn't want to say my request out of sounding a fool.

I turned to leave, but stopped and looked back at her. "But?"

"Nothing, it's not important enough to bother about." I started to leave.

I frowned and followed after her. "I think you're trying to lie to me. I understand if you don't fully trust me right now, but..." Gah. Why was it bothering me so much that she wouldn't tell me?

"I don't think it's that important, but if you wanted to know, I wanted to make a memorial to Whiterun." I say.

I nodded. "If you want, we can do that right now. I don't mind. Whiterun was important to me too."

"Well, we don't have to do it right now." I say, a little embarrassed by the whole situation. "I was saying for the future, I would like to come back here, if that was alright by you." Why I was so embarrassed by this I didn't know.

I shook my head. "You don't need to ask me. Even if I'm not around, you'll probably do it anyway. So if I said no, it wouldn't really do anything. We'll do it after we take care of everything. Who knows, maybe we'll get the chance to rebuild Whiterun, hm?" I gave a reassuring smile, casting a casual glance up at the sky to check the time.

"Yeah, I would like that." I said, my cheeks turned a flourescent red, what was wrong with me.

I looked back down and raised an eyebrow, noting the colour change in her face. "Are you alright? Been out in the sun too long or something?"

"Yu yeah!" I say, turning away. "Anyway, we should keep moving." I say as I start toward Riverwood, "We can make it by the morning if we're quick enough."

I blinked confusedly and shrugged. "Right. Night travel. My favorite."

I hope Gavyn's alright. Come to think of it, I hope Sanaria's alright, too. She was acting pretty strangely.

We arrived at Riverwood without too much trouble, although a wandering stag caught our eye, we continued forward. "So, the best place to look for travelers, or information about travelers must be the tavern right." I say.

”Right. If anyone from Whiterun is looking for refuge, then the　tavern would be where I'd go. And, if we need a room, I'll be able to get us one."I patted the pouch that I kept my flute in.

It took me a moment to realize a flaw in my statement. I cleared my throat. "I mean, if you need a room."

Well, that was a stupid mistake.

"If I need a room, what are you trying to say, that I'm not just as strong as you?" I say, quietly noting his use of we and single room, what was he playing at.

I blinked. Well, that went wrong in a multitude of ways. "No, I was just saying that if you wanted a room, I could get you one. I'm fine with sleeping outside."

"No, if anyone is getting a room it would be you, Lydia and I spend days traveling Skyrim, exploring ruins." I say.

"Yes, and Gavyn and I spent days in Red Mountain. Which is a volcano, mind you. Filled with vampires. I think we're the more qualified."

The nerve of some people. Just because I wear Telvanni Robes...

"Ah! Well then, he is well traveled." I say in a tone I thought I might regret. "Anyway, let's ask the owner." I begin to walk into the tavern.

I nodded and took a longer step to push open the door for Sanaria, if only just to bother her. I grinned and said, "Please, enter, milady." I prepared to duck an attack as I held the door for her.

He ducked and to oblige him I punched the air where his head had been, although maybe a might bit too hard, the wood of the door frame had splintered and a nice hole was left there. "Again, Sanaria you know how much it costs this place everytime you come in here." A familiar voice sprang up. "Orgnar!" I said, a smile on my face. "Yes, now, who is this man you've brought with you, your not the type to be bringing men into taverns for a good night." He says to me.

I stood and glanced at the door frame with a slight frown. "I'll pay for it. My fault." I shut the door and looked into the tavern with a slight smirk. "Darvis. And--" I stopped there, not wanting to risk another one of those punches from Sanaria. I cleared my throat. "We're stopping in, looking to see if a couple of our friends have shown up. That's all."

"Don't worry about it, I'll stick it on her tab. Sanaria, what brings you here, if your back then that means..."
"Alduin is dead." I said triumphantly.
The room erupted into a cheer, "But I have some bad news." I said, hesitating to say the next words.

I looked at Sanaria as she hesitated.

"She doesn't want to tell this news any more than I do. But, Whiterun is in ruins. Hence the 'looking for friends' part."
