Order of the Nine Stars

The Order of the Nine Stars. The world's largest group of Magisters, knights who use magic to fight Demons and protect humanity. But groups rise up against these magic knights, yet to reveal their hands, chief among them the Blank Syndicate. This world will soon erupt into a fight for power between these three powers, what are the tales that will come about.

-8 Years ago-

"In the beginning there was naught but the one true goddess Cistya. She was the first being to exist and she will be the last. Using her divine powers Cistya created the world as we know it, and gave life to the humans, her children.
These children of hers were given Divine Authority over the land and all that existed in it, and Cistya rained down many blessings to her children. However, some of her children did not believe in the power Cistya showed and as a result they lost their Divine Authority.
Unable to accept their loss these humans rebelled against Cistya, attempting to wrest control of her powers and take it for themselves, but of course they failed. Cistya stripped them of their humanity and set them below her children, to serve them and hopefully grow in repentance.
Cistya saw the darkness that her powers had wrought, and knew that if she stayed she would only cause her children more grief, and so she prepared herself to ascend to the celestial realm. Before doing so she set two creations to watch over her children; the mother goddess Eou, who would watch the humans and protect them, and the Lord Vestrid who would punish the sinners and dark ones. In doing so she felt contented and ascended to the celestial realm to await the days when her children would rejoin her without worry.
What Cistya could not see though was the darkness set in Vestrid's heart, he coveted Eou and her dominion with the humans, and so he devised a plan to seek his ends. Vestrid knew that Eou could not interfere with him as much as he could not with her, and so he blessed some of the Lesser race with black powers, and brought forth into this world the Demons. These Dark Ones wrought a terrible magic and trapped Eou for Vestrid, ensnaring her to his whims for as long as he wished.With his terrible deed done Vestrid took a new name in the sacred tongue, Adwym, attempting to establish himself as the lord of the humans and absolve himself of his sins.
Cistya looked down upon her creation with great sorrow, for she could do nothing to help her children against Adwym's Dark ones herself, so she shone the light of the nine great stars into humanity, and produced celestial angels to fight on her behalf."

The teacher closed her book suddenly, "That is the story of our worlds creation, and the birth of our holy angels the Magisters." The teacher smiled lightly, but it quickly turned into a frown when she saw one of her students dozing off. "Aneytha Weldhart! Were you even paying attention to the holy story of our goddess and protector!"

Aneytha snapped out of her trance-like state and looked around hurriedly. "Uh, the answer is obviously Lady Goddess Cistya correct!" She had a dumbfounded expression on her face at being addressed so quickly.

"My goodness child. Do you realize what day it is of all days to be dozing in class?" Some of the other children began to laugh lightheartedly.

"Of course I do! It is the festival of our Lady Goddess Cistya." Aneytha spoke the words out quickly but clearly, 'I don't know why we had to wake up early to go to another lesson though, surely nothing bad could happen on the day of our great Lady's festival right?' "I am sure she would understand my sleepiness on the day we give her glory right?" She said it in the innocent way that a child would speak, trying to lessen the harsh punishment she would surely receive from the teacher.

"You would do well not to test our great Lady Goddess Cistya, there are no stories that end well of men and women who tried." The teacher had a stern look on her face, but it held a soft kindness to it as well, truly this woman wished no harm to befall the child. She sighed and almost set down once more to continue the lesson when a man burst into the church classroom, "There is a demon in the village!"

"A demon!? But that should be impossible!"

"Yes, word has been dispatched to the nearby Magister, they should be here in 10 minutes!" The man almost collapsed, but the teacher held him upright. "You need to sit down, where was it sighted?"

"Over on the west end."

Aneytha froze. Her house sat at the far west end of the village, it couldn't be that the demon had attacked her home had it? Before she knew what she was doing her small legs pushed her as fast as they could down the familiar streets to her home. The teacher's cries resounded behind her but Aneytha was far beyond hearing what she said. Aneytha stopped before the door to her house, nothing seemed amiss, surely what she heard meant nothing, the demon had found a way in underground and was farther in the town. "But then why was no one running when I came here." She spoke the words that held her fears, she had no clue why she would cause herself so much worry, she would step inside and her parents would reprimand her for leaving school, and then she would take a punishment from the teacher in repentance. Truly this would be what happened, and she reached out her hand to push the door open.

...Red...

Aneytha's eyes widened, and a raspy gasp escaped her small lips. She looked toward the table that usually sat in the middle of their house; where they would eat dinner all the time, where her father would tell her stories about his family, but it wasn't where it was supposed to be. Instead the table had been flung against the wall, deep gouges embedded in it from some unknown object. The strangest thing that should not be there though, was the large hulking figure standing over something Aneytha could not quite make out, the figure had heard the gasp she let out and slowly turned toward her.

"My...my...what a pretty...face you have." The voice was hoarse, and sounded as if it was moving through a throat made of sanded-paper. "I would...very much like...to get a better...look." The large feet slowly turned the rest of it's body to the small girl.

'Run!' The only thought in her mind was to get away, at least that was what she believed, but her legs felt paralyzed, and her eyes betrayed her. Another thought had been hiding in her mind, 'Where are Mother and Father?' Surely what she was seeing was merely a dream, a nightmare her parents would rescue her from soon, until she laid her eyes over what the beast was standing over.

Tears began to flow down her cheeks.

Below the beasts foot was what remained of her mother and father. She truly felt powerless to stop the sudden end she would surely meet. Perhaps if she had stayed home she would not have the time to regret this day, to regret looking forward to the festival and seeing the magnificent fireworks with her parents.

The beast took its few steps over to her and raised a claw.
Aneytha knew this would be her end.

The arrow struck into the demon's neck and was pushed through with the same force as the flames pressed them through the wound and flew into the wall, the demon's blood sprayed out onto the young girl as the demon dropped her.

Aneytha landed back onto the corpse, the blood from both her parents and the demon had stained the front of her dress. She looked up at the creature that had stolen her life from her, she wanted to stop him, she wanted to destroy this dark creature, she wanted to...cut it to pieces. She tried to stand up but the demon slammed a foot into her, kicking her toward the wall.
"YOU...STOP...INTERFERING!" The gravelly voice rang out as a shout, and one could see more sacred runes surround the demon, the runes didn't activate as quickly as before, so Warren would be able to catch a glimpse of the words; Fire, Burst, Pillar.

She winced at the pain she felt when the man helped her up, evidently the kick she suffered earlier had left some damage to her ribs. "I might be able to." She began to follow his lead as they left the burning building, a crowd had gathered a respectable distance away from the house, watching to see the outcome.
Warren and Aneytha exited the burning house and several townsfolk looked on, neither relieved or disappointed at the current proceedings.

Aneytha looked up at the man again. She was uncertain of what she should do or where she should go, but she decided then and there that she would help this man like he helped her. "I'm Aneytha." She managed to squeak out her name while walking down that road, it would be years before she ever returned to this place again.

-4 years earlier-

The practice room walls were painted a dull grey color that had been with her throughout her training. How many times had she been thrown to the floor of this room? She could no longer count neither that nor the number of bruises she had obtained over the four years she had spent training to be a Magister. She looked up at the man before her, Warren, the man had saved her four years ago when she was only 11 year old and had taken her to the Order of the Nine Stars where she had begged to be let into training. He had become her mentor here, after being reprimanded for his performance at the village, they let up a little when she had requested training and told him it was his responsibility to help fix his mistake. "I'm ready Master Warren, please tell me when to begin."
